Registration/Hospitality Desk

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone at the ECSSMET 2020 Conference Hospitality/Registration Desk.

To assist the delegates, we will provide a hospitality desk manned by the DLR staff at Steigenberger Parkhotel Braunschweig during the entire duration of the 16th European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing.

More Information about the opening hours of registration desk will follow in June 2020.

Language

The official language of the conference is English.

Passport and Visa

A valid passport is required for non-EU citizens for entry into GERMANY and the European Union. An identity card is sufficient for citizens of EU Member States. Please consult the Consulate nearest to you for special details.

Advance travel planning and early visa application are important, since visa applications are subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past. It is strongly suggested that all attendees contact their local embassy to determine the travel documents they will need to visit Germany.

If you do need a visa to attend the conference, please apply as soon as possible!

Letter of Invitation

The Conference Secretariat will send you a letter of invitation upon request. The Organizing Committee would like to clearly state that the letter is only to help the participant to obtain a visa or to raise travel funds. The invitation letter does not imply further financial obligations from the Conference towards the participant.

All participants of ECSSMET 2020 requiring an invitation letter for visa application purposes should request it as an option during the online registration. Letters of invitation will not be issued without receiving the registration and payment of the required registration fees.

Should your visa application be declined, you can send a request for a full refund of the registration fees to ecssmet2020@dlr.de until 31^st of March 2020. A scanned copy of the visa decline letter should be attached to your request. The cancellation policy will apply to the requests received after 31^st of March 2020

Insurance

The registration fee does not include participant’s insurance against accidents, sickness, cancellation, theft, property damage or loss. Participants are advised to take out adequate personal insurance.

Mobile Phone Manners

As a courtesy to other attendees, please observe good mobile phone manners. When attending sessions, please turn off your mobile phone and other wireless communications or use the silent notifications options. If you must take a call, please step out of the room rather than disrupting the event. Thank you for your cooperation.

WIFI

Venue “Steigenberger Parkhotel Braunschweig” offers free WIFI to all conference participants. Password(s) will be announced on-site.

Currency

The German currency is EURO. Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept international credit cards.

Temperature Germany

The temperature in Braunschweig in June averages 12 - 21 degrees Celsius.

Voltage

Germany operates on 220-240 Volts electricity. The primary socket types are Europlug, Schuko.
